LYDIA TRETHEWEY

Fugitive Immensity

4 November - 19 November

Nyisztor Studio

Taking as its impetus an elusive sensation of sublimity that arises during ordinary car travel, the works in Fugitive Immensity explore what happens when a daydream slides into a space of ungraspable immensity. Using an expanded approach to photography, Trethewey utilises solvent dissolution in order to orbit the ineffable, to press against the quotidian-sublime even as it slips away. This body of work has been developed over a four year creative practice PhD at Curtin University.
